Salon Berlin

As a forum for international contemporary art, the Salon Berlin drew on the expertise of one of Germany's most successful private museums to present contemporary works in Berlin within challenging contexts and combinations. Young artists such as Alicja Kwade and Nathalie Djurberg have already engaged in a dialogue here with works by Sigmar Polke and Willem de Kooning from the Frieder Burda Collection. For each exhibition, thematic and aesthetic concepts were developed that shaped both the visual design of the Salon and the accompanying program.

With its thematically and aesthetically crafted exhibition formats, Salon Berlin sought to transcend boundaries. It aimed not only to present pressing perspectives but also to provide intellectual and emotional inspiration through art, in order to develop the necessary visions for a shared future. The Frieder Burda Foundation closed its exhibition and event space in Berlin with the exhibition by Katharina Sieverding (September 3, 2021–September 26, 2021).
