Art after 1990

In recent years, Frieder Burda has dedicated himself with increasing commitment to the current art of a younger generation of painters. Works by Neo Rauch, Karin Kneffel, Eberhard Havekost or Corinne Wasmuht document the enduring fascination of the medium of painting and the search for new subject matter and themes. By presenting these contemporary positions the Museum Frieder Burda is taking part in the current discourse on art, which continues to raise questions about the foundations and essence of painting. But works by photographers such as Axel Hütte, Gregory Crewdson or the French street artist JR have also found their place in the Collection in recent times.
