The Museum Frieder Burda
offers a range of educational courses and activities carried out by the Children’s workshop of the Frieder Burda Foundation.
More than twenty dedicated volunteers with an artistic or educational background have been engaged at the Children’s workshop since its foundation in 2003. In order to ensure the pursuance of quality-driven art educational work, great emphasis is placed on lifelong learning through further education. Through visitor-oriented methods and by tailoring our programme according to our visitors’ needs, individual and media-incorporative programmes are developed. These programmes – whether accompanying the exhibition or integrated therein - should allow participants to make the connection between the objects exhibited and their thematic classification.
The Frieder Burda Foundation’s chief goal is to draw as many people as possible to art by offering a meaningful accompaniment to the exhibition programme. This way, children can become creative people open to innovation, who recognize culture’s potential to enrich our lives. The Children’s workshop primarily serves to engage a young audience. The courses on offer for adults open a new gateway to art for this particular audience.
Works created during the Children’s workshop programme are shown on a regular basis in the context of a small temporary exhibition – Frieder Burda’s own initiative - at the Museum Frieder Burda.
Courses for children
Courses for school-aged children in school classes or during their free time usually run over a longer period of time, in order to ensure a continuous work process and learning. In relation to the current exhibition on offer, activities carried out on a thematic basis at the Children’s workshop will alternate with interactive tours of the museum.
